It's always nice working on the Myvi. Our customer received this car one day earlier and brought it to us the next day to get his head unit and speakers upgraded. Mind you, he also already had a bunch of things bought and ready. Seems like someone who likes to plan ahead.


The head unit of choice, Kenwood DMX7522S mainly because it is one of the more affordable wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto unit available. Not just that, this unit also fits really nicely and the user experience is excellent with this unit. This is definitely the head unit we would recommend to most users out there as it falls in the sweet spot of affordability yet it is feature packed. Everything most people would want in a head unit really.


For anyone who has had experience in the Perodua Myvi can testify, the speakers are just lacking any sort of clarity. The worse thing is that there are no tweeters provided. This definitely would cause a loss in the high end clarity and also a solid sound stage.


To remedy that, we replaced all four speakers with the Pioneer A series speakers. For the front, we opted for the Pioneer TS-A1608C component speakers. With this set, we are now able to place the tweeters up on the dashboard which is guaranteed to improve the clarity and sound stage. The woofers on the A series are also able to handle lower end frequencies wat cleaner. Hence once all speakers were installed, music just sounded way much better. 


If it was up to us, we would complete this install with a subwoofer but I guess that will have to wait for another day.


To summarize, this is a pretty basic upgrade that we would recommend to anyone out there looking to improve their listening pleasure in their cars.
